The Fundamentals of Perception and Effect

Body Language

• What do the head, hands and feet tell us about our demeanour and how can we use this effectively?
• Clear and certain: how body language can counteract or support the actual message
• Image - status - service: using subconscious signals to foster one’s own personal impact
• Confident in communication: calm body language dialogue – also as a basis for being calm on the telephone

Vocal and Speech Effects

• The perception of a commitment to service: communicating clarity and trust through particular voice patterns
• Conducting effective telephone conversations and ending them: being convincing in a sophisticated way with selective vocal elements
• A key function at the administration and economics academy: dealing calmly with clients and with difficult situations in the office
• Persuasion: the power of deliberately choosing words – making a film in the head of the conversational partner

Conversational Skills and Communication

• Emotional management
• Remaining poised even in unexpected, difficult situations: what one can learn from actors
• The central idea of calmness: knowing one’s own stress pattern and directing it
• Calm, friendly and certain: handling opposition and destructive objections

Personal Impact and Demeanour in Communication

• Rhetoric › the KISS model: directing communication with conciseness, clarity and simplicity
• Telephone › simple but effective: guiding conflicts towards a solution through specific formulations
• Difficult situations › deescalating them with specific voice patterns: composing instead of opposing
• Communication › employing specific speech patterns to deliberately meet others where they are in terms of their thinking and guide them

The seminar is designed to be interactive. The content will be conveyed through input from the trainer and through exercises. If desired, video feedback is also possible.
